Chinthaka is an experienced structural engineer. He has over 27 years of industry experience in consulting and, prior to that, 7 years in academia. With a PhD in Structural Engineering from the University of Southampton in the UK, his initial ambition was to become an academic, but after migrating to Australia, he changed direction and embarked on a professional journey as a consulting engineer.
Chinthaka has extensive experience in the design of hospitals/health care facilities, high-rise buildings, residential and commercial developments, industrial buildings, warehouses, and aged care facilities. Prior to joining ADP Consulting, Chinthaka worked as the lead structural engineer in the design and construction of the Forensic Medicine and Coroners Court building – a $92 million landmark project of NSW Health Infrastructure.
Chinthaka believes positive attitude, commitment, effective communication, teamwork, and community spirit as the key attributes to success in the professional space. He always endeavours to give the best possible service to clients and stakeholders in a timely manner fulfilling their needs. Being a former academic, he has a passion for knowledge sharing and mentoring young graduates in achieving their career goals.
With his vast industry experience and client-focused outlook, Chinthaka’s ambition is to make a positive contribution to the structures group in achieving the business aspirations of the ADP.
