New Release | White Paper Issue 8: Think…The Data and Energy Runway

ADP Consulting’s latest white paper explores how airports can evolve into integrated energy, logistics and digital infrastructure hubs – hubs that will have meaningful economic and decarbonisation possibilities.

For decades, airport growth was tied to aircraft movements, terminals and passenger numbers. But the next phase of airport development may be driven by something very different – power and data.

With large landholdings, existing HV networks, sophisticated operation teams and long-term investment horizons, airports are uniquely positioned to host data centres, electrified transport, advanced manufacturing and energy infrastructure.

Data and energy infrastructure can help tackle one of aviation’s biggest challenges: the vast emissions from jet fuel. Through the electrification of ground equipment, advanced traffic control and production of hydrogen and other sustainable aviation fuels, data and energy investments can lead to meaningful decarbonisation of a carbon-intensive sector.
