"Good acoustic design needs to be well integrated which drives my interest in multi-discipline design and understanding.”

Will is an acoustic consultant with over 18 years of experience in acoustic design for major landmark projects across Australia and internationally, giving him practical exposure to early concepts, design stages and on-site work alongside clients and contractors.

After completing his degree in Applied Physics at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Will had a strong interest in acoustics which resulted in him staying on to assist in the RMIT reverberation chambers and the CSIRO anechoic chambers.

Will has spent time in offices around Australia and internationally, working on both the flashy Arts and Culture projects as well as the less flashy, but equally significant major infrastructure and industrial projects.  His experience has ranges from Melbourne Recital Centre and ACMI to spending weeks on-site at Olympic Dam Mine and managing noise and vibration for all MRPV projects.

Other key projects include the new Sound Stage at Docklands, the Music Market at Collingwood Arts Precinct, ‘Beyond Perception’ at Scienceworks and the Australian Music Vault at the Arts Centre.

Will’s interest in acoustics is driven by its under-appreciated role in the built environment and the significant impact that changes, improvements or interventions in acoustic design can have in a space. He aims to improve project outcomes by using good communication and multidisciplinary knowledge to integrate acoustic design as early as feasible and identify likely project limitations connected to the acoustic design.
