The Geelong College’s new Senior School gymnasium, Belerren Sports and Wellbeing Centre, is a purpose-built double court gymnasium and elite training facility that forms the anchor for the Senior School’s sports precinct.

In the Waddawarrung language Belerren means shine, and this outstanding facility, designed by Wardle Architects, will be a place for Geelong College students to shine in both sport and life.

At the heart of the new Centre is a 3,500sqm gymnasium, a central training space to host basketball, netball, badminton and volleyball games and general training sessions for students.

The facility was originally envisioned as a world-class training environment for students that creates another extraordinary place for school gatherings. The thoughtful integration of locally sourced materials and the strategic maximisation of natural light are hallmarks of its design, while the inclusion of renewable infrastructure underscores The Geelong College’s commitment to sustainability.
