Recognising the environmental, social and economic benefits of embedding sustainability in the design and operation of its assets, QIC – one of the world’s leading diversified alternative investment firms – aims to achieve net-zero emissions across its extensive portfolio.

We were engaged to support QIC with a Decarbonisation Strategy across ten of their sites in Australia including Castle Towers, Watergardens, Canberra Centre, Westpoint, Eastland and Grand Central shopping centres.

This included electrification strategies for the portfolio, and examining the centres’ existing operational performance and current systems, before undertaking CAPEX, OPEX and carbon analysis for a range of electrification strategies. Based on the information we have provided, QIC is currently implementing their Australia-wide decarbonisation strategy and is on target to reach their commitment to be net zero by 2028.

As part of the project, ADP Consulting defined future scopes of work and produced documentation suitable for QIC to tender the works and feed into their reporting framework. This has enabled them to track and further improve their performance. Additionally, we consulted with QIC around phasing and construction works to ensure these could be implemented with limited disruption to their centres.
