Central Barangaroo

Commencing works in 2023, the $2B development will be the cultural centre for the Sydney CBD western waterfront precinct positioned between Barangaroo Reserve and Barangaroo South.  Sitting above the future Barangaroo metro station it will complete what the Barangaroo Delivery Authority calls ‘the final piece of the puzzle’.

The development is part of the 5.2-hectare site and will comprise retail, residential, and commercial use with public space for recreation, events and entertainment. Aqualand is developing and delivering the residential and commercial components, and Scentre Group is developing and operating the retail centre.

More than 50 percent of Central Barangaroo will be parkland and public areas and contain open-air spaces for festivals, entertainment, arts, culture, recreational and educational activities transforming Central Barangaroo into a truly world-class destination.

Since conception, ADP has been providing mechanical and electrical design services alongside a team of world class architects.

At the heart of the development is a precinct central energy plant (CEP) which will supply heating and cooling to Central Barangaroo. ADP is designing the CEP to utilise harbour water for heat rejection.

The development is targeting 6 Star Green Star, 6 Star NABERS, Gold WELL Building Standards, 4 Petals Living Building Challenge and PCA Premium Grade.
