Pacific Werribee – Stage 7

The completion of Stage 7 at Pacific Werribee, was a milestone for Pacific Shopping Centres and the project team. This $370M redevelopment ensured Pacific Werribee’s status as the leading shopping centre within its core catchment area, as well as attracting new international tenants. The 35,000m² expansion to the centre included a new Myer store over 2 levels, a new Target store, new Aldi store, new international tenants (including H&M and Uniqlo), approximately 120 new retail tenancies over a 400m long mall, a new fresh food precinct, new restaurant precinct, 2 Gold Class cinemas, a 10-bus interchange and more than 1500 new car spaces.

The Buchan Group provided a stunning architectural solution for the new mall to create an exciting and vibrant retail space. Working closely together, we ensured the building services were integrated sympathetically with the architecture without compromising performance.

ADP’s approach allowed for flexibility in managing the complexities of a live retail construction environment. One of the key challenges for the services deign was to provide sufficient flexibility to allow for 5 separate staged openings over a 3-year period whilst maintaining continual operation of the centre. At the same time, significant upgrades were carried out to incoming Authority infrastructure and existing services were updated from 25+ year old plant to state-of-the-art technology equipment and services.
